Lisa Wilk will be the honoree for Neighbors Helping Neighbors at this First Fridays. She has been a teacher for 17 years with the last 6 at the Community School of Naples where she teaches reading, writing, and spelling to fourth and fifth grade students.
Battling health problems since birth, Lisa now is in need of a kidney transplant, which is estimated to cost approximately $250,000, and that is just the beginning of the significant medical expenses she faces. For the rest of her life, she will need follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications. The cost of post-transplant medications can range from $2,000 to $5,000 per month—and they are as critical to her survival as the transplant itself.
Mercato First Fridays is open to the community and is free of charge. Free parking is also provided. Located north of Vanderbilt Beach Road and fronting US 41, Mercato is a live, work, play complex with residential above retail. Call 239.403.2204 for more information or www.mercatoshops.com.
